    Custom Fan Upgrade and Conclusion

Enermax was kind enough to send over three replacement fans for the iVektor and these fans are some of the most advanced you can get.  The fans shown here are the Cluster Advanced and feature the Enermax batwings technology, RPM limiting switches, PWM fan control and LED lighting.  Given that the iVektor comes with a fan speed switch I left the fans on high speed, enabled the LED light and plugged everything into the stock speed switch.

The white LED light should look great passing thru the orange filters and provide better cooling over what you normally get.

    Conclusion

I was asked if orange was my favorite color and while orange and I have a long history together it is not my favorite.  The color was choosen because it matches the logo color on Hardware Asylum and I wanted the casemod to reflect the site beyond being a product of my workmanship.

Overall I am extremely pleased with how the case turned out.  The Enermax iVektor design lends itself well to this kind of casemod especially with the very ornate front and top panels.  I won’t lie there are some issues with the paint but nothing anyone will see, especially once the gear has been installed.

I had debated masking off the case edges so that the orange wouldn’t show thru with the side panels installed.  Looking at it now I’m actually glad I didn’t go thru the effort.  The horizontal orange stripes complement the design extremely well and give it a nice racing look.

The last step will be to apply the Hardware Asylum vinyl which will have to wait until later.
