    Conclusion

    Conclusion
Gamers and hardware enthusiasts are often grouped together when it comes to the gear they buy.  In most cases this is true, for instance high end video cards will be purchased by gamers and overclockers along with storage and memory.  The big difference comes in how they build their systems.  Enthusiasts tend to enjoy showing off their gear while gamers will concentrate on making sure the system is powerful and portable.  The Scout 2 Advanced helps to bridge that gap.

By far the biggest feature of the Scout 2 Advanced is the carrying handle, without it this case is just a standard high airflow chassis with support for eight 120mm fans and standard ATX motherboards.  However, once you include a carrying handle the possibilities are endless.  Especially considering that at a glance the carry handle is obscured from view.

Cooling options are exceptional out of box.  For those addicted to DIY watercooling you'll be happy to know the Scout 2 can easily fit a single dual fan radiator with an optional second with some extensive modding.  This of course also brings up the issue of modifications and what you could do with the CM Scout 2 Advanced.  Obvious modifications include watercooling with dual fan radiators.  Your pump and reservoir will likely reside in the hard drive bay, which is also removable to accommodate extra long graphics cards.

Other mods might include custom paint.  All of the plastic pieces feature removable metal fan grills that can be painted in an accent color or removed completely if you so desire.  The plastic panels should accept paint quite well, with a little prep, and gives you the option to expand the colors beyond black and white.  Maybe some nice "go fast" stripes or fiery skull, the way we understand it you can raise your FPS by 10% by adding dual stripes and that metric is doubled if the colors are complementary. wink smile

The Scout 2 Advanced does come with a small window that is secured in place with several metal tabs.  Normally we would say windows are bad but on this product the small panel is tasteful and the perfect size for a well placed appliqué.
