Roccat Tyon Layout and Features Continued

The Tyan features a 1.8 meter (~5.5 feet) cable sleeved in a black braided cover and ended on a larger labeled plug.  Weighing in at 126g the Tyan is slightly heavier than the Kone XTD but unlike the XTD no weight adjustment is included.  I liked the weight as I tend to keep my Kone at 128g but found the exclusion a bit baffling in a new flagship model.

Another carry over from the Kone series is the the Pro-Aim Laser Sensor R3 used by all high end Roccat mice. A quick google search turns up the make as an Avago 9800 sensor.  The sampling rate can set from an initial 200 dpi upward in 200 DPI increments.  Five presets can be configured for on the fly DPI adjustments via the mouse buttons.

To really appreciate the difference in the lighting between the Kone XTD and the Tyon I snapped this picture of them side by side.  Both feature the programmable 4 LED lighting system.  It's a system unlike anything else on the market (and probably the reason there isn't a wireless variant).  Each of the lights can be programmed to light up, pulse are change color over a broad spectrum of colors.

With the lights dimmed you can really see the difference in the design between the two mice. On the left, the Kone XTD softly pulses through the entire spectrum fading from pink to purple.  On the right the Tyon is set to heartbeat with a blue glow to match my Ryos keyboard.  The Tyon effect is much like a car from your favorite street racing movie and the effect is much brighter in person.
