Here a Drone There a Drone Everywhere a Drone

CES 2016 ended yesterday and many of us editors are still trying to recover from a week of talking the walk and walking the talk, err talking a lot and walking even more.  Some sites would lead you to believe that VR took over the show floor and while VR was a popular topic I saw more drones at the show than any single one thing.

Of course it helped that they were all in the same location.

CNBC caught on to this and even wrote a little something about it.

The developments mark the evolution of drones to a vibrant, consumer-focused segment from their early applications in the armed forces.

One Israel-based company said it has a drone that can be taken straight out of the box, charged, and used to deliver small items to distances of up to 25 kilometers.

Yariv Bash, the chief executive of Flytrex Aviation, told CNBC's "Asia Squawk Box" on Friday, "Let's say you forgot your cell phone back home. A friend of yours can just connect the cell phone to the drone and it can send it to you."

Intel even had a demo of a $2,000 unit using Intel Real Sense to navigate around while recognizing and following its owner.  No need to learn the controls just press a button and away you go.  Of course it had a camera so filming action shots was never easier.
