    Introduction

Roccat is a company known for building some of the most integrated gaming peripherals on the market.  For instance you buy an Isku (the keyboard) you’ll install the included software and it will detect if you have a Kone (the mouse) and allow you to configure both devices to work together and share some common or custom features.

While I am a fan of the older Kone designs the new Roccat Myth is by far one of the most advanced mice they have produced.  The Myth is as MMO style mouse that comes with a button array along the left side.  As you would expect these buttons are programmable and can have alternative functions like on previous mouse designs.

The Myth is also customizable.  Included with the mouse is an accessory kit that allows you to change out some of the panels but mostly consists of replacement buttons.

In the swarm software when you customize the buttons you are allowed to choose how but the button should be.  For instance if you prefer to grip the mouse with your thumb you might need to disable the center row of buttons and do so by installing a blank and setting that region in the software.

The Swarm software also comes with several presets based on different games like Battlefield 4, League of Legends and CS:GO.  If none of those suit your fancy then you can create a custom button mapping and then configure the mouse accordingly.

Roccat claims they will release the design files for the buttons so that users with access to a 3D printer can create their own button designs, configurations and colors.
