Update to the Server Project:  Ninjalane.com is now running fully on a new and more powerful HP DL360 G5 server and in this segment Dennis talks about the process of racking up the new server and what it really takes to migrate sites from one server to another.

Dennis also talks about some of the benefits of running on new hardware and how some of the simplest changes can make a big difference in overall system performance.

Choosing a Video Card:  In this segment Darren talks about his new system build and how difficult it can be to pick a good video card when budget is a concern.  The new nVidia GTX 680 is a huge topic in this discussion since it is not only cheaper than the HD 7970 but is also largely unavailable (as of this podcast recoding)

Be warned both Dennis and Darren mention ATI quite often when in fact they should be saying AMD.

Later in this segment the discussion migrates to video card design and if hot clocked cards are really worth the wait or, if there was something more to the research.

How much monitor is enough:  One of the things that many people rarely consider when choosing a video card is your monitor size.  The total resolution can play a huge part in the decision process and often elimate many of the more expensive cards from the mix.  Knowing this does it pay to get better hardware or do you ride the rails and shoot for an average around the middle.

Update to the HWBot team:  Hate to say it but the team got bumped down to 6th place (as of this recording) due to some aggressive overclocking by team EVGA.  There are a few competitions coming up along with some emergency overclocking sessions that should get the team back into the ranks.

If you are interested in HWBot and what it takes to be a casual or top overclocker drop by the forums and post a question or two.  There is some great information targeted at getting a new member started and some simple ways to get points with even old hardware that even your mom refuses to use.
