NVIDIA GTX 1080 Launch at DreamHack
Every couple of years NVIDIA launches a new GPU followed by a plethora of advanced technologies to better serve the gaming community. This year they launched a new GPU architecture called Pascal which is the culmination billions of dollars worth of research and development to create the fastest and most efficient GPU ever created.
NVIDIA calls the chip “The New King”
Sadly, Dennis wasn’t able to attend the launch event in Austin Texas but did get to watch the public livestream on twitch.tv. In this segment Dennis and Darren discuss the new GPU architecture and speculate what the future may hold.
UPDATE: It should be noted that a good portion of the discussion is centered on the “Founders Edition” and between the time of recording and time of launch some more information has surfaced claiming that the Founders Edition is nothing more than the NVIDIA branded card you can get at Best Buy and is claimed to be a higher quality card than what is shipped to board partners. We won’t know for sure what this all means until after May 27th so consider this segment to be an informed speculation at best.
Phanteks EVOLV Tempered Glass Modding Project
Once again Dennis has been busy in the Hardware Asylum Labs and between testing watercooling gear and reviewing motherboards he has posted a review of the Phanteks Ethoo EVOLV Tempered Glass Edition case. Not only did the case get the Hardware Asylum Editors Choice award but he kept it out of storage for a future modding project.
In this segment the duo discuss the features of the Phanteks EVOLV Tempered Glass Edition and go into why it might be one of the best cases for DIY watercooling systems and an excellent starting point for a similar styled casemod.
