When people say “Bluetooth speaker” a certain image comes to mind and for most of us it is of a super small portable speaker that usually doesn’t sound very good.  There are exceptions to the rule but, for the most part it is difficult to get excited about a portable speaker and based on how many sites “reposted” our review they were not excited either.

In this segment Darren and Dennis have an in-depth discussion over what the Creative iRoar is and why it really redefines what a portable speaker is.  Be sure to check out the review for more details on this awesome product from Creative.

Gigabyte X99 Designare EX Motherboard Unboxing
It is difficult to do an unboxing over a podcast due to the whole not being able to show photos but in this segment Dennis goes over the features of this new motherboard from Gigabyte and is generally impressed.

This segment really is a first impression of the motherboard so some of the information is incorrect.  For instance the Broadwell-E processor has the same PCI Express lane count as Haswell-E which doesn’t explain how Gigabyte can do 3-way with 16x PCI Express lanes each.  As it would turn out the Designare EX comes with a PLX switch that multiplies how many PCI Express lanes are available so they can accommodate even more M.2 and U.2 storage connections and still support 3-Way SLI and Crossfire.  Companies have done this on LGA 115x systems for years and Dennis was surprised to see it on an LGA2011 platform.

Also the Broadwell-E is available in three different core counts from a 10 core flagship to an 8 core must have to finally a couple of 6 core budget options.  The 10 core processor is quite expensive however the 8 and 6 core options are a little more affordable provided you don’t already have a Haswell-E.
