    Case Layout and Cooling

Additional cooling can be handled in a variety of ways.  We have already seen the twin 180mm fans located at the bottom of the case and the 120mm located at the top but did you know you could install four more in the external drive bays?
Six of the external drive bays are used to construct two separate drive racks.  The racks are then flanked by two 120mm fan cages.   By removing the fan cages you can install any  120mm fan or mount things directly to them using the elevated screw posts.
Silverstone actually recommends that for users with self contained watercooling units mount their radiator directly to these fan cages and have them pull cool air into the case.  Normally this would be a recipe for disaster but the bay covers are just a façade.  Once you pull the cover off you get a nice vented opening with a filter screen backer.

The back of the motherboard has been the subject of fierce debate.  In the beginning the area was never used until casemodders started hiding cables back there.  Modern case designs make use of this area for cable routing and even offer grommets to help dress things up.  Silverstone has taken things to the next level and is allowing you to install your hard drives back there.  Not only does this free up the external bays for better airflow but removes the need to route cables in and behind the motherboard tray.
Our only concern would be making sure the drives were properly cooled since only partial airflow from the 180mm fan and a single 120mm door mounted fan hardly seem like enough.
