    Installing the PF240-ARGB

Installing the PF240-ARGB  is very straight forward and comes out of the box configured for Intel systems.  We will be using the MSI Z390 Ace on the LGA 115x platform with a Core i9 9900k.  The hardware required to install this cooler on any modern platform is shown below aside from a few backplates that were camera shy.

The first step will be to install the backplate.  It can only be installed one way and the threaded posts are keyed to prevent them from spinning.  Be sure to install them correctly ensuring they are fully seated into the backplate.

You will find four standoffs in the included hardware which will space the pump block correctly and keep the threaded posts held in place.  I have found there is a right and wrong way to install them and you’ll know you did it wrong if the post falls out.  If that happens reverse the standoff and try again.

Next I would recommend installing the fans.  Use the included screws to hold the fans in place.

The final two steps involve applying thermal compound and installing the pump block.  I prefer the 5-dot method which involves five small dots on the processor in an X pattern.

Next install the pump block and secure it using the included spring nuts.  Tighten each of them a couple turns at a time until they bottom out.  Hook up the fans and pump and you are ready to go.
