Patriot Division 2 Viper Xtreme PC3 15000 Memory Review

As with all of our reviews we pit the default speed system against the overclocked one in a head to head byte match. The results of this are below. The effective overclock here is 3.7Ghz with a BCLK of 106.5Mhz for a resulting memory clock of 1982Mhz. That is a modest overclock of 116Mhz over the rated speed. 

Try as we might but we could not reach the magical 2133Mhz using the XMP settings.  Likewise we also had issues adjusting the memory timings regardless of speed.  For instance a simple adjustment from CAS9 to CAS8 would fail at post when using the 1866Mhz frequency setting.  BCLK adjustments proved there is a little more headroom in these modules and thus being the best way to tune the overall system.
