    Conclusion

Mechanical Keyboards like the Trigger command a price premium over their less durable membrane brothers.  This cost is mitigated by increased lifespan and measurable increases in performance.  The switch to a premium keyboard is a commitment to maximizing your performance as well.  I found the feel and tactile feedback of the Trigger a bit daunting at first but quickly adapted to the change finding small increases in my reaction time and typing speed.

The additional noise level can be distracting especially in a crowded environment leading to my wife ducking in to see what was causing me to type so furiously while working on this article.  Key strokes were readily audible over the phone and Skype.  A negative?  It's tough to say.

Keyboard feel is very subjective but the Trigger feels solid and provides a quick response without the need for a full press.  This buys precious time for serious gamers by shaving critical milliseconds off response times.  Heavy typists may want to seek out the Cherry switches with a more solid response like the black switches.  Overall the CM Storm Trigger feels solid and inspires confidence in its quick predictable response.  What more can you ask for in a gaming keyboard?
