Viper V765 Mechanical RGB Gaming Keyboard Review

With more and more hardware makers branching out into new market segments we are seeing an explosion of new enthusiast level products.  Patriot is no exception bringing quality peripherals to market at three different levels.  Today we will be looking at the latest Intermediate gaming keyboard; the Viper V765 Mechanical RGB Gaming Keyboard.

While Patriot may call the Viper V765 intermediate, the specifications are definitely not what I would call second best!   Let’s take a look.

All of the current generation of Viper keyboards share a similar black and silver look and are built on aircraft grade aluminum chassis.  The Silver finish has an almost metal flake appearance that really provides a nice accent for the RGB lighting.  A simple red Viper accent and matching USB cable weave provide the only splash of color.

The use of Aluminum construction and the Kailh Box switches makes for a light weight and durable product backed by Patriot’s two year warranty.

The Viper V765 also comes with a convenient key pulling tool, a quick start guide and some nice Viper logo stickers in a little envelope.

The V765 Gaming Keyboard is fitted with the latest Kailh mechanical switch type, the Kailh Box Switch. This new switch has a unique form-factor designed to protect the overall switch from dust and moisture by surrounding the stem with a "box". The V765 uses the White switch variant and is “clicky” with a 1.8mm actuation point (3.6mm total).
