    Introduction

We first saw the prototype for the CyberPowerPC CK60 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard at CES in 2023.  Dennis was immediately taken by the design, particularly the striking CNC machined Aluminum frame. He called the CK60 the highlight of his visit with CyberPowerPC!

This year CyberPowerPC is finally ready to unleash this 60% mechanical beauty on the world. It may be small but is it mighty? Let’s find out.

The CyberPowerPC CK60 may be the smallest mechanical gaming keyboard we have reviewed here in the lab.  CyberPowerPC offers a selection of Gateron switch options but the CK60 is offered in the popular Gateron Red Linear Switches. You can also choose between the traditional black you see here and an attractive all-white version with many more designs shown at CES.

With keyboards you rarely need to pay attention to the specifications.  Reason being, they are generally plastic construction, feature a different combination of switches and may be straight or ergonomic.  For mass produced units there is a sudo standard that is expected and happens to be based on an IBM design from 1985, this is what people expect because it is what everyone knows.  When you get into custom keyboards like the CK60 the specs start to matter and will challenge your basic understanding of a keyboard design.  These custom units tend to challenge this notion by breaking the conventions and offering something that often makes sense to a single person and/or has a singular purpose.  Sometimes this works out, and sometimes it can be a disaster.

As they say, it all depends on what you plan to do.
