Sapphire NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Graphics Card Review @ ThinkComputers

ThinkComputers recently reviewed the Sapphire NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT, focusing on its impressive blend of performance, cooling, and features. Built on AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture with the Navi 44 GPU, this 16 GB model is factory overclocked and positioned as the fastest RX 9060 XT yet. Tested across a suite of Q2 2025 games, ThinkComputers found it trails the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB by just around 3 at 1080p and 1440p, while offering a significant uplift over both the RTX 5060 (about 11 at 1080p) and the RX 7600 XT (approximately 37 at 1080p). The review notes that ray tracing performance now reaches parity with the RTX 5060 Ti, with a generational improvement of 64 over the RX 7600 XT in RT workloads. The card’s robust 16 GB VRAM removes future memory concerns, and thanks to PCIe 5.0, bypasses the limitations of the 128-bit bus.

"When it came to AMD's Radeon RX 9000 series we were initially told that AMD was focusing on a single card at a single price-point to really compete against NVIDIA. This of course ended up being the Radeon RX 9070 XT and it was quite a success with solid performance and good availability / pricing at launch. AMD was not done though, they announced a Radeon RX 9060 XT recently which appeals to many more gamers, as it is less expensive and we can't forget that a bulk of gamers are still gaming at 1080p..."

Thermals and acoustics are standout highlights: the NITRO+ remains virtually silent under load (23 dBA) and stays cool thanks to its large triple-slot cooler. Power draw is commendably efficient (about 170 W), comparable to the RTX 5060 Ti, with AMD fixing the notorious multi-monitor idle power bug. Overclocking yielded an impressive real-world FPS gain of around 10, with the card showing good headroom and useful thermal tracing support. The review admits that the €439 ($415) street price represents about a 20 premium over MSRP, questioning whether the quiet cooler justifies it—saying that below $400 it’s a good value, but NVIDIA becomes more compelling above that mark.
