This whole episode started because Dennis "done screwed up" (something he rarely does) buying parts for a watercooling project.  Normally when testing watercoolig components the loop is assembled “quick and dirty”.  This means that everything is built as quickly as possible.  No hardline bends, compression fittings are generally not used and the lines are run with soft tubing where hose barbs reign supreme.

As you can imagine Dennis has acquired a good amount of “stuff” over the years including some rare waterblocks, all types of tubing including a few lengths of 11/16” OD Tygon tubing.

The Duo also talks about the Aquacomputer Cuplex Kryos Next as the next big CPU block to make it into the lab.

While there are rumors that the wrong sized tubing was ordered along with compression fittings to match it is not something many watercooling experts are willing to admit.  And, while that mistake will be felt for years to come t does bring back stark memories of water loops from days gone by where “everyone” used 3/8” ID tubing in their loops because the 1/2” stuff could never be run correctly.

Honest mistake or not the show uses this to their advantage by offering education.
What do you really need when building a DIY water loop.

    • Do you need a 280 Radiator or will a 120 work??
    • How many fittings do you need?
    • And what is a Pump Res combo?

These things and more will be discussed.
