Fractal Meshify 3 XL Case Review

Case Cooling
I often feel that case cooling is over emphasized with problems being amplified when builds are mismatched. Despite this, the proper ventilation of a PC case is an important factor that we should pay attention to especially when we have a good thing going.

The Meshify 3 XL is very open and comes with three form fitting 140mm Momentum 14 ARGB PWM fans pre-installed. In total the Meshify 3 XL supports a number of different fan combos
- 10x 140mm fans
- 7x 120mm fans
- 2x 180mm fans
What I find amazing is that this is the first case, that I have seen, supporting more 140mm fans than the gold standard 120mm. Of course, if you are looking to get some of that Fractal Design Torrent action you can ditch the small fans and jump to dual 180mm fans for extra silent death to heat.

The installed Momentum fans are controlled by the new Adjust Pro Hub that is controlled by an app you can download from Fractal Design.
The final cooling related item is the ramp found inside the Meshify 3 XL. I have seen these before and never though much of them until I realized that with normal cases the bottom most fan normally just blows air under the basement panel and is pretty much wasted.

With the Meshify 3 XL design the ramp acts as an air scoop to direct airflow up towards the bottom of the video card. I am not convinced that really will do much but, I can fully agree with keeping the cooling air in the main chamber over being wasted.
The location also has mounting points for a DIY pump and a small drain port in the corner.
