be quiet! Light Mount Layout and Features

Calling the Light Mount design a traditional 101 keyboard is selling things short.  A triple layer dampening system adds that additional layer of noise reduction you would expect from a company with the word quiet in their name!

The 101-style layout is immediately recognizable but the brushed aluminum surface looks great. Keys are surface mounted and well-spaced. Not bad for their first effort!

    Measuring in at 132mm x 461mm x 44mm (~5.20 x 18.15 x 1.73 inches) the Light Mount I slightly larger than most of its full-sized competition.

A set of five programable macro keys and a multimedia dial fill out the left side.  The multimedia dial is made from textured aluminum and the center is actually a button.

The right side is the home of a classic ten key. Purists will immediately feel at home with everything right where you expect it to be.

From this angle you can see the surface mounted style of the key mountings. This raised mount makes it easy for the ARGB to radiate and also for the keys to be easily removed.

The bottom is supported by three one-inch rubber feet up front and two two-inch feet on the back. Like most modern keyboards, you can raise the back in two different levels to change your typing angle.

With the keycaps removed we can view the be quiet! silent linear orange switches. These 5-pin, Cherry MX style switches are hot swappable. Each key is pre-lubed for quiet, smooth linear action.  The larger keys, like the enter key and the space bar are supported by stabilizers.

These custom switches were specifically designed with silent materials and individual key dampening.  They can best be described as smooth, quiet, and surprisingly responsive, especially for a dampened switch.

The Light mount comes with a full-sized magnetic wrist pad. The angle is nice and the pad feels like is made from memory foam.

Connectivity is provided by a nearly 7-foot sleeved cable. I do love a good detachable cable. Its no goo to replace a keyboard if your cable or connectors get damaged. Also included is a basic switch removal tool
