Yeyian Spark Series 2000 Layout and Features

There are several types of smaller form factor keyboards. The spart is a pretty typical TKL design with a measurement of 357.8 x 134.8 x 34.7 mm (14.09in x 5.31in x 1.37in) and a weight of about 2 lbs.

This ergonomic compact design is finished in an anti-sweat finish to prevent keycap damage and enhance durability. Yeyian has chosen a larger font that brings to mind futuristic movie titles. Only the primary functions are backlit.

Thanks to the software free design many of the keys do double duty as function keys for configuration.  This means you will need to keep the manual handy or memorize combinations like FN + SL to change the lighting effect.

Connectivity is handled by a 5.8 ft USB 2.0 cable protected by a black braded sleeve. A cable channel allows the cable to exit the back or from either side.

There are two rubber padded feet to lift the back for a more ergometric feel.  No wrist rest or pad comes with this model though it feels pretty good without.

The Outemu Switches are surface mounted and feature a clear top with a white base.  The switches are user replaceable and there are three extras and a set of tools included with the keyboard.  This may be the cheapest way to get an upgradeable mechanical keyboard on the market.

The Outemu Blue switches feature 3.6 +/- 0.4mm key travel distance and 60+/-15gm key pressure activation for precision and high speed.

Anytime you select a mechanical keyboard you should take care to select the style of switch that best suits your preference.
