Casemodding is one of the core trends that established Ninjalane and also helped to introduce Hardware Asylum to everyone when Dennis took it over in 2012. While these mods were rather simple, they do exemplify a very popular segment in the enthusiast PC world allowing system builders an additional degree of personalization when it comes to setting up your custom PC. What many users fail to realize is that, without casemodding the PC landscape would be completely different with an absence of tempered glass, no LED lights and likely no insistence on having the best cooling. The PC would resemble something you can currently by from Dell or HP with no personalization.
In this episode we welcome Dewayne Carel to the podcast to talk about cases and casemodding and how those roads lead him to curate one of the most prolific casemodding contests ever which occurred during the popular QuakeCon shows hosted by ID Software.
