    Roccat Software

I mentioned the Easy-Shift[+] zones earlier but on the MK Glow ROCCAT has taken customization to the next level.  The entire keyboard can be remapped and added functionality accessed through the Easy-Shift[+] key.  No more shifting your hand off the keyboard to find macro keys in the heat of the action.  With the Ryos line you can enable macros on any key as easily as you would key in a capital letter.  Think about it, everything you need is now at your fingertips and customized for each application.

Let’s take a look at just how simple the software is.  Functions are distributed across 4 tabs in a nice logical way.  Profile controls are always available across the bottom of each page for easy adjustments.  I recommend using the latest drivers whenever you buy hardware for maximum functionality.

In the Main Control tab you select the functionality for the caps lock key, FN key and which function keys are disabled (including that pesky windows key). This is also where you control the illumination and a dimmer/sleep timer.  There are also settings for configuring the sound feedback.  This provides a nice audible queue when you switch profiles or to guide you through macro recording on the fly.  I find the feedback much nicer than trying to follow things when another software package is in front.

The Key Assignment tab is where the bulk of the configuration talks place.  Each key zone can be individually selected and then each key individually configured.   The Macro Manager allows macros to be saved and reassigned like any other key function.

The Ryos line also features the R.A.D. tab or ROCCAT Achievement Tab.  This tab tracks an array of statistics about your mouse usage and includes Trophy Achievements you can earn.  Sadly I have yet to earn a trophy on my MK Glow but the appeal of extra achievements is goofy fun.

The Update/Support tab provides easy access to driver updates and support. Offering direct links to driver downloads and details on your current driver version.  Online support, email support and access to an online support request form are all present though an internet connection is clearly required to get much out of them.
