Sound Blaster G8 Layout and Features

I really like the angled look of the G8 but from the side it looks like a lost Tetris piece? Still the large knobs and the easy to find buttons keep the look clean. Even the light up Sound Blaster branding can be turned off in the software suite.

The top is dominated by those knobs. Each has a tactile feel to the side thanks to the multifaceted design. The left knob controls the game vs voice mix allowing you to balance your chat level against your game sound. Volume is on the right.

The three buttons have a visual indicator and clear labeling to make toggling them easy at a glance or by touch. They are: The SBX Mode, Direct Mode and the headphone/speaker toggle.

3.5 mm Headphone and Mic ports are located in the front. To the right is a visual indicator of when Dolby Digital Decoding is active.

A variety of ports dominate the back side hinting at some of the potential the G8 brings the table.  The top row (from Left): HDMI (Arc), USB/ DC Power Connector, USB, Optical Input and a Headphone Gain toggle.

The lower set of ports (from Left): Optical output, Optical input, 3.5mm Line Output, and a 3.5mm Line input.

Our Sound Blaster G8 arrived with a set of USB-C to USB-C Cables. One of these cables in the USB/ DC Power Connector provides both PC connectivity and power.
