    Conclusion

Shopping for a SSD can be difficult if you are trying to balance performance and price.  Of course when you factor in that drives wear out over time and that small changes can impact performance, at least on paper you can be left with a difficult decision to make.  In this review I went over a new Solid State Drive from Patriot called the P200 512GB SSD.  This is a performance based SSD and as the benchmarks showed overall performance backs up that claim.  Sandra read performance matched what was being reported from Patriot along with the ATTO read and write scores.  Sadly that performance didn’t translate well when it came to Crystal Disk Mark random reads and is really the only place the drive failed to deliver.

Despite this the drive was didn’t feel any slower than a standard SSD and the real world benchmarks backed that up with some amazing storage scores.  Given the price and storage options available from the P200 lineup I don’t think anyone would find a problem with that.

Overall this drive offers some decent performance for the price and is designed as a performance option for the mainstream market.  Normally bleeding edge performance is not a primary factor but can become a strong selling point.
