Discrete audio cards, you know the ones you have to install into your PC, are one of the best ways to increase performance of your gaming PC.  Not only does it offload audio processing from the motherboard but is one of the best ways to get the best audio quality on the market.  The AE-9 from Creative Labs is one of the best cards on the market today and comes with some amazing features that compliment the audiophile and can benefit streamers and gamers alike.

In this segment Dennis and Darren discuss the new AE-9 while comparing it to the AE-7 and thinking back to one of the early custom sound cards the Auzentech X Meridian 7.1.

    Aorus X299X Waterforce Xtreme Motherboard
There comes a time when performance computing takes a sharp left turn.  Bugs Bunny should have made that left turn at Albuquerque and Gigabyte keeps making them.  Last year Dennis reviewed the Z390 Waterforce Xtreme and was extremely impressed with the entire package.  The board ran well, the waterblock cooled what was important and the RGB was perfect.  At Computex 2019 Dennis once again got to see a prototype Waterforce, this time for the X299 platform which would complement the 10000 Series refresh from Intel .

At CES 2020 the X299X Waterforce Xtreme was finally released and Gigabyte was kind enough to send one to Hardware Asylum for a review.  So far the board looks amazing, overbuilt for the massive LGA 2066 with the same flash found in the Z390.  According to Darren anyone building with the X299X Waterrforce will need to consult with a trainer due to the heft of the full coverage waterblock.

Be sure to check out the segment to learn more about this amazing motherboard.
