After a short break during the holiday season the duo got together to talk about CES. The Consumer Electronics Show is an interesting tech event that was founded on the advancements of personal electronics and is the cornerstone for most everything we take for granted.
If you as anyone about their impression of CES they will tell you that it was AI and Robots and they would not be wrong. The majority of news was generated around popular topics and the fears that get generated when AI takes over the world. Based on what was on display, there is very little to worry about but, change is coming and, collectively, we need to be prepared.
While the CES discussion will cover a number of different vendors, many of the highlights will be recorded here in the show notes. The first vendor is CyberPowerPC. This custom PC builder is a great resource when it comes to buying your next gaming PC. Not only do they have pre-build options to choose from but, they allow users to make customizations and will support the product if you have issues.
CyberPowerPC has always relied on 3rd party vendors when it comes to sourcing products and tends to make their products rather predictable in overall style. This year during CES 2026 CyberPowerPC was showing their new original case design called the MA-01. This “corner office” chassis design shows you everything that you care about and hides everything else behind removable panels. These panels fit seamlessly together to hide things like expansion slot screws, cables and even the fans. There is little to no impact on overall cooling and massive impact when it comes to overall style.
One of the highlight products is actually a robot but, not the humanoid version that captured all of the headlines. The Rovar X3 is a fully autonomous device that can balance on two wheels and is able to traverse a variety of different terrains. The designers, Sentigent Technology, intend this little guy to be a hiking buddy that you can program with a trail map and then simply follow his lead. Or, he can follow you on your adventure and be called on if you get lost.
Dennis finds this to be the AI robot that we need since it is rather simple but can provide a good value with very little effort. Contrast this with a humanoid design that is 1000x more complex but cannot deliver that much back in total value.
The final item from the Podcast Episode is something straight from the future and is a fully autonomous skid steer loader from Bobcat. This futuristic concept looks the part 100% and is showing the extent companies are willing to go when it comes to streamlining repetitive tasks.
