Darren has been known to be driven by two things.  Awesome advances in technology and price.  Sometimes these things conflict while other times they create a happy medium that brings joy and happiness to all.  In a previous podcast Darren talked fondly about visiting Microcenter to buy a GTX 1070 and shortly after launch which was quite amazing at the time.  It was an expensive buy but, has yet to prove to be a bad purchase.  The GPU has been watercooled since its purchase, been overclocked, been doused with Thermaltake C1000 coolant and been the subject of many a discussion, “Should I Upgrade”

With the launch of the RTX 20-Series that question has come up again and has Darren super excited about the new technology Nvidia has been brining to the table.  Amazing graphics, Super draw distance and the promise of higher performance all add to the allure of the new GPU.  However, what many people forget is that while new technologies are cool there is often an underlying story, some hidden truths, and reasons for why you shouldn’t get so excited about new tech for the sake of being new.  Simply put it could be nothing more than butter on your toast or liquid soap to a millennial.

In this episode we explore the hype around the RTX 2080 Ti and make a decision on if the hype is really all that and a sock of nickels or just more creative marketing designed to add points to the stock ticker.
