Cooler Master MasterFan Halo2 ARGB Fan Review

Cooling fans are a necessary part of the modern computer system and happen to be one of the first things that people complain about.  The largest of these complaints is sound quality, or more specifically, how loud they are in comparison to other components.  Back in the day the pinnacle of cooling technology was the 60mm “screamers” that moved lots of air and would spin in excess of 6000rpm.  We didn't start to see any real change in the cooling landscape until the advent of heat pipes and water cooling.

Since then there has been a variety of different fan configurations from super large 200mm fans to smaller 120mm versions.  Most are designed for specific tasks from high air flow to high pressure, low speed, high speed and even variable speed.  Some fans were released in custom colors while others experimented with LED lights and, not like the versions featured in this review, we are talking four (4) large LEDs, one in each corner and only in single color.

In this review we will be looking at the Cooler Master MasterFan Halo 2.  As the name suggests this is the second edition Halo fan with a refreshed design and better specifications.
