    Conclusion

In this review we looked at the ARES 7200Mhz DDR5 from Lexar.  This is a dual channel 32GB memory kit is designed as a gaming product for power users and overclockers.  The module features a simple black heatspreader with a few silkscreened graphics, and stylish LED light bar across the top.

The modules in this review feature extremely impressive timings of (34-42-42-984 for amazing out of box performance when the Intel XMP 3.0 or AMD EXPO memory profiles have been enabled.  Physically the ARES modules are very low profile with a 44mm height for clearance around most every heatsink on the market.

When it comes to performance the ARES RGB OC modules are available in five speeds, 5600, 6000, 6400, 6800 and 7200Mhz with the 7200Mhz modules featured in this review offering the best timings at a profile voltage of 1.4v.  As with all DDR5 modules, you will find On-die ECC and PMIC for improved stability, reliability and power efficiency.

Overall, I was very impressed with the Lexar ARES RGB DDR5 memory kit and have been using them in my personal SFF LAN Party build.  Out of box performance was extremely good thanks to the CAS 34 timings and the 7200MT/s frequency is sitting right at the upper end of the performance sweet spot.  This is where you will get the maximum performance gain without needing to have a specialized motherboard.

When it came to overclocking I was able to get an extra 400Mhz at the expense of several points in CAS timing.  This didn’t increase overall Real-World benchmarks scores by much but did have a profound impact on throughput and latency. It is not uncommon for this to happen and shows that sometimes it is best not to mess with things.
