Dennis recently discovered that the Hardware Asylum Podcast has its own IMDB page. While the honor is well received it doesn’t have much information about the show aside from the individual episodes, titles and publish dates. Using this page we have (re)-discovered that our first episode dropped in January 2011.
This is technically the second episode as the first was a colossal cringe fest using a Logitech webcam for recording, no sound isolation and really no idea what we were doing. What this experience taught us was the importance of planning and that if we wanted to be taken serious, we needed to take our recording hardware game very serious.
That prompted Dennis to find a dedicated recording location and pick up a semi professional microphone and a couple sets of headphones for auto monitoring. The microphone was a Blue Yeti and served the show well for a couple years until it was replaced by two Rode Procaster microphones matched with the Focusrite Scarlett 6i6.
Since then we have upgraded a number of components from an audio interface update, Podcast machine upgrades and even a change to the recording location all to make the recording process more efficient and higher quality.
In this episode the duo talk about two recent additions to the Hardware Asylum Podcast
Given the overwhelmingly successful reception of the DT 1770 there will likely be a pair of them before the new year.
