Sama V60 Gaming Build and Review
Author: Dennis GarciaSama V60 Curved Glass Case
The center piece for this build is the Sama V60. As mentioned before the case is a dual chamber cube design with the motherboard and cooling on one side of the case and the PSU, Storage and cable management on the other.
One of my biggest surprises is how light the case is given that it has glass panels across the front and side. I have been told that companies have figured out how to do curved tempered glass though given the weight and thickness of the glass I am not entirely sure what type of glass this really is.
Due to the position of the components the case is quite a bit shorter than your standard tower but, quite a bit wider. From the front of the case you can see the curved glass panel across the front of the case while the back features ample mesh perforations to promote active cooling.
Expansion slots are located at the very bottom of the case and proudly feature my pet peeve when it comes to case design. External screws for expansion cards. The tooling for this option is quite a bit cheaper and uses less material making it a rather popular option when attempting to hit a price point.
Opinions will vary but, from a design standpoint I prefer the traditional design where everything is contained inside the case. It feels more secure to me, there are no panels to remove, and there is added strength to prevent the back panel from vibrating.
With the side panels removed we can get a good look inside the case. On the glass side of the V60 there isn’t much that you haven’t already sees. However, from the reverse side the side cooling fans are exposed along with a dual drive mounting plate. This plate supports both 2.5" and 3.5" storage drives.
The motherboard tray does support reverse connector motherboards and might be one of the biggest redeeming factors.
Front panel controls are located at the top of the case including a large power button, smaller reset button, two USB 3.0 Type A plugs, analog headphone and microphone jacks, a single Type-C and small LED button allowing you options to spin through the pre-configured lighting patterns.
