SilverStone FLP02 Retro Inspired Case Review

In addition to the included 120mm exhaust fan you will find two more 120mm fans up front. These are all tied to the fan controller and feature the high-pressure blade design
One of the unfortunate limitations of the SilverStone FLP02 is the lack of radiator support at the front of the case. Consider that these fans are sandwiched between the front bezel and the internal structure there is simply no room for a radiator here.
The top panel can be removed with a single screw located at the back of the chassis. Removing this exposes a universal fan and radiator mounting location supporting a wide variety of fan and radiator combos.
Cooling system
- Front: 120mm x 2 (120mm black fan x 2 included)
- Rear: 120/140mm x 1 (120mm black fan x 1 included)
- Top: 120mm x 3 / 140mm x 2 / 160mm x 2
Radiator support
- Rear: 120mm / 140mm
- Top: 120mm / 140mm / 240mm / 280mm / 360mm
Keep in mind that Installing fans and/or radiators at the top of the case can block access to the topmost external drive bay.
The included fans are currently connected to the centrally located fan controller. A total of eight fans can be connected and are driven by a dedicated SATA power connection. PWM signals are delivered by a motherboard sync cable allowing them to ramp up and down based on system load.
Of course, hitting the turbo button up front will trigger them to ramp up to 100% giving you some interesting options when it comes to setting up your fan discipline. For instance, the CPU fans can be run from the motherboard while case fans can be hooked into the hub. Or, these can be swapped to provide extra cooling for the intense Quake 3 Deathmatch.
