LevelPlay Combat Liquid 360HUD AIO Cooler Review
Author: Dennis GarciaConclusion
In this review we took a look at a new AIO cooler from Levelplay called the Combat Liquid 360HUD. On the surface this is your typical 360mm AIO CPU cooler with a few nice things added in. For starters, the cooler is delivered fully assembled. While in the DIY market this isn’t a huge deal but, for the system integrator this can save quite a bit of time. All the installer will need to do is configure the mounting hardware, install the cooler and move on to the next system.
Maybe the most unique feature is the Combat Liquid HUD. This isn’t your typical LCD screen as it won’t allow you to watch your favorite anime or adult entertainment but rather shows some interesting vitals about your system. The obvious will be CPU temperature followed by CPU frequency and system loading. System loading is where things get interesting. The normal load is show at the bottom using the “V” graphic from the Levelplay logo with a number to the left. At the top is a segmented sweep graph and will move with system load but responds to the wattage output of the CPU.
What people don’t always realize is that when your system is under 100% load, that isn’t always the hardest your CPU can work. Depending on the workload you could have a 50% load generate 50w or could generate 150w. The wattage is what translates into heat and is directly responsible for the overall CPU temp. That is what is being shown in the middle of the HUD and on the sweep chart at the top.
Overall, I found the Levelplay Combat Liquid 360HUD to be a really good AIO that brings something different to the table that isn’t completely focused on LED lights or overall performance. The cooler does come pre-assembled making installation quick and easy, the mounting hardware is easy to install and is toolless provided you have access to operate the thumb nuts used to secure the cooler. The HUD is super informative and is only available after you install the driver. This driver works like any device. There are no inputs and nothing to configure and that a little different from my expectation since I kept finding myself looking for a little dashboard.
