    Conclusion

The Gigabyte GV-N670OC-GD2 has many things going for it starting with the new GTX 670 GPU.  This may be a cut down version of the GTX 680 but it has plenty of power for most games and some to spare in others.  Most of that power comes from the impressive factory overclock which was due, in part, to the custom designed PCB and Windforce thermal solution.

During our testing the card ran extremely well even at the massive 2560x1600 default resolution we were running and even outperformed the Radeon HD 7970 in several of our benchmark tests.  Considering that Nvidia has targeted this GPU at the Radeon HD 7950 and having it outperform its big brother speaks to how important core clock and efficiency can be.
Overclocking is a big part of the enthusiast community so we tend to look for special card designs that help us overclock without having to resort to extensive board modifications and insane cooling solutions.  The Gigabyte GTX 670 OC fits that profile by offering us a custom PCB design with a larger PWM and WIndforce thermal solution.  These things combined enhance the factory overclock but also enabled us to run the core up to 1080Mhz with a boost clock of almost 1300Mhz!

Sadly there are no fancy LED lights or dual BIOS switches so we'll have to see if maybe Gigabyte has a SOC edition in the works or will leave the possibilities up to our imagination.
