    Introduction

I have done quite a few casemods over the years and is a common topic we cover on the Hardware Asylum Podcast.  Thing with casemodding is that with most modern builds they are not a requirement.  The majority of system boxes come with ample cooling, side windows and places to store cables, drives while supporting all types of cooling from air, AIO and even DIY watercooling.   Because of this, what most people call “casemods” are nothing more than a custom build that generally follows a theme.  The flavor of past several years has been “white out” builds with excessive amounts of RGB with a primary color being white. However, there are some new concepts making the rounds where you will build following a certain manufacturer.

In this review we will be looking at a product that bridges the gap between a casemod and factory pre-mod as a benefit to silent air cooling enthusiasts.  The Antec Flux Pro Noctua Edition is a collaboration between Antec and Noctua to create a new product using the best from both companies.

I have a jagged history with Antec, In the early days I was a strong supporter of Antec cases due to the build quality, style and material they used to build them.  One of my first “technical” case mods was with an Antec chassis and while I long outgrew that case, I kept the side panel, which you can see in several of the Hardware Asylum YouTube videos.  As would any budding hardware review website owner I reached out to Antec on several occasions asking about products and basically hit a brick wall every time.  At the time there were 100’s of other website owners doing the same thing and, sometimes, it is easier to use the noise as a gauge of success than to follow up and make the most of it.

A short time later, the Antec brand sharply fell on its face, quality control went out the door, products started using cheaper materials and the designs lacked any real innovation.  Needless to say, I never paid much attention after that.

    Antec Flux Pro Noctua Edition

One of my design aesthetics is the concept of contrasting colors and is something I put into all of my designs either it be a house design, digital graphics or even casemodding.  Some of my recent mods featured a contrasting color theme where I would paint certain parts of the chassis while leaving the rest the factory color.  This creates a visual break allowing for certain elements to stand out while others will blend into the canvas.

The Antec Flux Pro Noctua Edition follows this principle by using the world famous Noctua brown against the black chassis design of the Antec Flux Pro.  These color combos mirror many of the other Noctua co-branding efforts including the ASUS GeForce RTX Noctua Edition coolers for the 30, 40 and 50-Series GPUs, Seasonic PSUs and even Prusament PLA in the two Noctua colors.  While many of these products are handled by the source manufacturer the Antec Flux Pro Noctua Edition is distributed by Noctua making it a rather unique product.
