    Multi GPU Index

The Hardware Asylum Multi-GPU index is a portable set of data we can use to determine the multi-GPU potential of any motherboard.  A higher index number indicates a favorable condition for multiple graphics cards while a lower number indicates a hindrance in one of our leading indicators.  Since the Index is not dependent on system architecture it can be applied to any motherboard regardless of processor or chipset generations.

    Multi-GPU Scorecard (48-Lane)

    Index: 8
    Optimized: 3x
    Max Support: 3x

    Alternative Multi-GPU Scorecard (44-Lane)

    Index: 7
    Optimized: 2x
    Max Support: 3x

    Alternative Multi-CPU Scorecard (28-Lane)

    Index: 3
    Optimized: 2x
    Max Supported: 2x

    Technologies Supported

    NVidia SLI
    AMD Crossfire

This motherboard will support up to three graphics cards and is optimized for dual card operation.  If you are running a 48-Lane CPU then you'll get three slots with even bandwidth however, thanks to nVidia you’ll get to run two cards and like it.

For best video performance you will want to populate the top most PCI Express slot with your video card.  Try to avoid using the last slot as it will likely be running 8x or be disabled depending on your processor selection
